What kind of contra IS this?

A player I know sent me a photo of his Contra, pictured here. It's about 6 feet long and fairly unusual in its extreme length and ultra narrow profile. Anyone have info on this classy old horn?

I remember when I worked at Ponte's, he had a Bass sax that required a small step stool for an average player to reach the mouthpiece. It was especially funny to see Charlie Ponte play it, as he was about 5 feet tall to start with. I wish I had a picture of that!

I just received a few photos from an old work friend from Ponte's and I'm having them transferred to digital right now. I'll post them when they're ready.

This instrument has a similar profile to an old Heckel that I'm playing at UW-Madison right now. With the Bb bell on (it also has a C bell), it's slightly taller than me (and I'm 6'1"ish), and towers over everything when I sit and play. The bell on this contra seems longer though - perhaps it's a low A model?
